Multiple accounts on one PC
Two people — or your work and personal accounts — can use Treetor on the same computer. Signing accounts in or out does not change the local tree folder; a marker only records which account owns Sync for that folder.
What changes when accounts switch
Treetor is signed in to one account at a time, but this installation keeps using the same local tree folder. Signing in, signing out, or switching accounts never makes local trees disappear.
Every data folder carries a workspace marker for Sync ownership. If a different account signs in, local reading and editing continue, but Sync is withheld so two accounts cannot upload the same folder. Settings › Data & storage explains the mismatch and offers Take over sync with this account when appropriate.
Switching accounts
- Open Settings › Account & plan and click Sign out. Your trees stay on disk.
- On the sign-in screen, choose Sign in or create account and sign in as the other account.
- The same local trees reopen. If this installation should use a different library, choose one folder under Settings › Data & storage and restart; that choice applies regardless of which account is signed in.
Separate Windows users
If each person has their own Windows login, nothing needs setting up: settings live under each Windows user's own profile, and each gets their own Documents folder.
